About Cloudflare
At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. We power millions of websites and Internet properties, ranging from individual bloggers to Fortune 500 companies, by providing a global network that improves performance and security without requiring hardware or software changes.
We are looking for builders who value curiosity over bureaucracy and see AI as a partner in solving complex problems. If you are ready to help shape the future of the Internet, you will fit right in.
The Role
The Customer Engineer (CE) is the core driver of our technical go-to-market strategy. - Customer Adoption: Design migration blueprints and serve as the primary executive and engineering contact for implementation oversight.
- Commercial Accountability: Carry a variable quota tied to new business and account growth; lead technical QBRs for C-level stakeholders.
- Trusted Advisory: Maintain deep relationships throughout the customer lifecycle, identifying risks and providing remediation strategies.
- AI Orchestration: Utilize AI agents and LLMs to automate routine tasks like security questionnaires and documentation.
- Education & Enablement: Build technical resources, SOPs, and best practices to raise the technical baseline across the organization.
Requirements
- Language: Business fluency in German is required.
- Experience: Proven track record in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Account Management).
- Architectural Mindset: Ability to design and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
- Technical Breadth: Depth in at least four areas: Internet fundamentals (OSI, BGP, DNS, HTTP), Security (WAF, Zero Trust, SASE), Performance, AI Proficiency, Coding/Scripting (Python, JS, Go), or Developer Platforms.
- Travel: Ability to travel 20–50% for customer meetings and industry events.
Bonus Points
- Experience with LLM orchestration and RAG architectures.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Background in hyperscalers or digital native environments.
