Senior Customer Engineer, Named - Cloudflare

About the Role

As a Senior Customer Engineer (CE) at Cloudflare, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, owning the technical relationship with enterprise customers from initial discovery through long-term adoption and expansion. You will operate as a quota-carrying technologist, leveraging AI-augmented workflows to focus on high-value architectural design and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Validation: Lead technical discovery, build bespoke architectures, and deliver product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) across Cloudflare’s Security, Networking, and Developer platforms.
• Customer Adoption: Own the technical health, onboarding, and implementation strategy. Proactively monitor telemetry to resolve bottlenecks and ensure rapid time-to-value.
• Commercial Accountability: Carry a variable quota tied to new business acquisition and account growth. Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to demonstrate ROI to C-level stakeholders.
• AI Orchestration: Utilize AI agents to automate routine tasks like RFP responses and sandbox provisioning, allowing more time for strategic advisory.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience: Proven track record in customer-facing technical roles (Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering).
• Technical Acumen: Deep expertise in web security, networking (routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation), and enterprise cloud architecture.
• Commercial Mindset: Experience in revenue-aligned environments with a strong grasp of SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical implementations into high-level business strategy.

Bonus Points

• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare’s AI stack (Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize).
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, or RAG architectures.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for custom integration scripts and API connectors.
