Senior Engineering Manager - Cloudflare

About the Role

Cloudflare is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Billing Engineering Team. You will oversee the development of scalable, high-reliability financial infrastructure that powers billions in revenue and supports millions of customers. This is a high-impact role involving the rebuild of our entire billing platform, including metering, aggregation, and invoicing systems.

What You'll Do

• Lead and Mentor: Manage a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of proactive communication, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
• Drive Execution: Oversee the design and implementation of a next-generation financial infrastructure that is resilient, scalable, and future-proof.
• Collaborate: Work closely with product, finance, data science, and operations departments to align technical decisions with business objectives.
• Strategic Planning: Manage priorities, set clear expectations, and navigate complex, high-profile projects with tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience leading one or more teams of senior and staff engineers.
• Proven track record of hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
• Ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams for large-scale initiatives.
• Experience building developer-loved, scalable APIs.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain the "why" behind technical decisions.
• Proficiency in implementing tools, processes, and internal instrumentation to resolve bottlenecks.
