Senior Engineering Manager - Workers KV

About the Role

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Workers KV team. You will manage a team of talented engineers building global, low-latency, key-value data storage that powers dynamic APIs and websites for millions of users. You will bridge the gap between high-level business goals and technical execution, fostering a culture of iteration and innovation.

What You'll Do

• Lead, hire, and mentor a geographically distributed team of engineers.
• Shape product features and improve the performance of Workers KV.
• Navigate ambiguity to deliver scalable, distributed systems that have never been built before.
• Oversee execution, planning, and process implementation to ensure predictable delivery.
• Act as a technical leader who can explain the "why" behind complex architectural decisions.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Strong communication skills with a focus on building shared technical understanding.
• Proven track record of hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
• Experience leading teams building distributed systems and developer-loved APIs.
• At least 4 years of recent professional experience with TypeScript or Go.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design).
• Deep understanding of web technologies (HTTP, JavaScript, WebAssembly).

Bonus Points

• Experience operating critical infrastructure for cloud or serverless platforms.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems, kernel, or networking.
• Contributions to large open-source projects.
• Experience with distributed storage and cache architectures.
