
About the Role
Cloudflare is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team pushing the boundaries of global realtime communication. You will leverage Cloudflare’s massive global network to build and operate high-performance, resilient systems for realtime video, voice, and data, utilizing technologies like WebRTC, MoQ, and emerging standards.
We are looking for builders who thrive on solving complex, large-scale problems and are comfortable working in an environment that values curiosity, iteration, and the strategic use of AI to accelerate development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Management and customers to define and understand requirements.
- Design and implement large-scale distributed systems.
- Instrument global realtime services, build dashboards, and perform data analysis.
- Monitor and tune system performance for optimal reliability.
- Research and implement new Internet standards.
- Effectively utilize modern tools, including AI, to solve technical challenges.
Requirements
- Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals.
- Proven experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
- A collaborative mindset with high initiative and curiosity.
- Proficiency in a modern systems programming language such as Rust or Go.
Bonus Points
- Experience with realtime protocols (WebRTC, MoQ).
- Experience working with streaming media.
- Relevant personal projects demonstrating technical depth.
