We’re financing the future of energy
Crux is the capital platform for the clean economy. We modernize capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure with solutions across advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence.
Our team is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, policy, tech, and beyond. We have raised $77 million in capital from top investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.
An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing
Energy demand is growing for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more affordable and reliable electricity. More electricity requires new clean energy infrastructure and strong domestic supply chains for minerals and components as well as large amounts of capital.
Traditional project finance is opaque, fragmented, and analog. At Crux, we’re changing that. Through unmatched insights and expertise, white-glove service, purpose-built tools, and risk underwriting, we power a more prosperous, clean, and secure energy future.
We are scaling quickly and looking for team members who are eager to combine deep expertise with an AI- and tech-forward mindset.
The opportunity
Crux is hiring a Senior Lead of Marketing Strategy to shape how we bring our capital solutions to market for clean energy developers and sponsors. This is a senior, hands-on role at the intersection of marketing, commercial strategy, and product, with meaningful ownership over how we position our offerings, reach our customers, and drive commercial results.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing Strategy, you'll lead marketing strategy for our capital-seeker audience: the developers and sponsors navigating complex financing decisions to get projects built. You'll turn a deep understanding of their needs, challenges, and decision-making processes into differentiated positioning, effective go-to-market programs, and actionable insights that inform business strategy.
You'll work closely with commercial and product leaders, as well as your counterpart focused on capital providers. You'll own initiatives from strategy through execution, developing a clear point of view, influencing decisions, and translating ideas into measurable impact.
What you'll do
- Lead go-to-market strategy: Own GTM planning and execution for products, services, and features serving developers and sponsors. Define target segments, shape launch strategies, and prioritize opportunities in partnership with product, commercial, and marketing teams.
- Shape positioning and messaging: Develop differentiated narratives and value propositions that connect Crux's capabilities to the financing needs and business priorities of capital seekers. Ensure our story is clear, compelling, and consistent across customer touchpoints.
- Bring deep customer understanding: Serve as a voice of the developer and sponsor audience, applying your knowledge of project development, financing structures, and capital markets to positioning, product strategy, and commercial priorities.
- Turn insight into strategy: Connect customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends to identify opportunities, sharpen our differentiation, and recommend where and how Crux should compete.
- Enable commercial success: Equip customer-facing teams with the messaging, tools, and training they need to have more effective conversations and win business. Develop high-impact materials, including training programs, competitive battlecards, and sales plays, and measure their effectiveness.
- Drive cross-functional alignment: Partner with product, commercial, market intelligence, and marketing leaders to translate business priorities into coordinated action. Collaborate closely with your capital-provider counterpart to ensure our strategies connect across both sides of the market.
