About the Role

As a Principal Product Manager for Telemetry Collection, you will lead the strategy and execution for Elastic’s edge telemetry collectors and remote management capabilities. You will own the vision for Fleet Server, Elastic Agent, and the Elastic Distribution of OpenTelemetry (EDOT), ensuring our users have a seamless, enterprise-grade experience for data collection.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Product Strategy: Define the vision, go-to-market strategy, and roadmap for the Elastic Agent framework and telemetry collectors.
  • Agent Architecture: Oversee the packaging, testing, and distribution of Elastic Agent and EDOT.
  • Remote Management: Drive capabilities for Fleet Server and collector infrastructure to ensure efficient deployment and control at scale.
  • Cloud-Native Focus: Lead the release strategy for Kubernetes operators and Helm Charts to ensure seamless lifecycle management.
  • OpenTelemetry Advocacy: Advance OTel as a primary data shipper and guide development across the upstream OpenTelemetry Collector project.
  • Log Infrastructure: Manage Filebeat and Logstash initiatives, focusing on performance, supportability, and user experience.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, UX, and marketing to deliver cohesive management experiences.
  • Public Advocacy: Act as a spokesperson for Elastic’s agent framework at internal and external events.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in enterprise infrastructure, observability, or agent frameworks.
  • Deep technical familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Elastic Agent, Filebeat, and Logstash.
  • Proven track record in defining requirements for remote agent management and distributed edge systems.
  • Experience with Kubernetes operators, Helm Charts, and cloud-native orchestration.
  • Background in IT Ops, DevOps, SRE, or as a customer-facing solution architect.
  • Ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear business goals.
  • Strong familiarity with the Elastic Stack.
