Principal Product Manager (XDR & Exposure Management) - Elastic

About the Role

Elastic is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of our XDR and Exposure Management capabilities. As the center of gravity for Elastic Security, this role involves converging reactive detection with proactive exposure management to provide a unified, native security platform.

What You Will Be Doing

• Strategy & Execution: Own the end-to-end XDR roadmap, covering cross-domain detection (endpoint, cloud, identity, network) and response automation.
• Product Expansion: Lead the integration of exposure and vulnerability management, including patch management, device control, and remediation workflows.
• Prioritization: Define the intersection of XDR and adjacent surfaces like attack surface and cloud posture, ensuring signals are used for intelligent prioritization.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary product voice for CISOs and VPs of Security Operations. Deliver roadmap direction and manage competitive positioning.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Partner with Engineering and Security Labs to translate complex threat research into actionable product requirements.
• Operational Excellence: Create high-impact artifacts like decision memos and competitive briefs to drive alignment across a distributed organization.

What You Bring

• Experience: 7–10 years of product management experience, with at least 4 years in security or B2B enterprise software.
• Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of XDR, EDR, SIEM, or SOC operations. Practitioner experience (e.g., detection engineering, incident response) is a significant plus.
• Technical Fluency: Understanding of exposure prioritization, exploitability vs. severity, and data science techniques behind detection.
• Executive Presence: Ability to communicate complex technical strategies to C-suite stakeholders and lead through influence.
• AI-Augmented Workflow: Proficiency in using AI tools for research, synthesis, and delivery.
• Autonomy: Proven ability to drive execution in a remote-first, matrixed environment.
