VP, Product Marketing, Observability - Elastic

About the Role

Elastic is seeking an outstanding leader to helm our Observability Product Marketing team. You will serve as a trusted partner to company and product leadership, defining the marketing, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for Elastic Observability SREs and decision-makers.

What You Will Be Doing

• Strategy & Leadership: Lead a growing Observability PMM team, including hiring and talent development. Set the marketing strategy, including messaging, technical content, priorities, and field enablement.
• Market Positioning: Provide thought leadership on market trends and competitive dynamics. Clearly articulate Elastic’s differentiation vs. similar offerings.
• Content Creation: Create, curate, and present compelling content for the web, press releases, executive briefings, blogs, and sales enablement.
• Persona Expertise: Act as the internal authority on developer and SRE personas, understanding how customers buy and adopt our products.
• Advocacy: Represent the company at speaking engagements, conferences, and press interviews.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface effectively with Leadership, Product, Sales, and Marketing within a highly distributed team.

What You Will Bring

• Leadership: A well-respected leader with experience building and scaling global teams of 5–15 people.
• Domain Expertise: Deep technical understanding of Observability solutions; former practitioner experience is a plus.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a history of creating outbound messaging that resonates with a technical SRE audience.
• Mindset: Creative energy, courage to challenge the status quo, and the ability to learn complex technical products quickly.
