About the Role

We are hiring a Field CTO to join our Strategic Field Organization at a Principal Solutions Architect level, based in Australia or Singapore. This role reports to our Global Head, Field CTOs.

The Strategic Field Organization is a team of Principal Solutions Architects supporting global strategic prospects and customers. This team collaborates with regional account teams on large engagements requiring strategic planning, such as DevSecOps transformation, solution recommendations, and technical advisory for customer senior leadership.

Field Solutions Architects (SA) act as trusted advisors during the presales motion, demonstrating how the GitLab platform and Professional Services solve common and unique business requirements. SAs also engage proactively with existing customers to provide thought leadership, partner on innovative solutions, and gather market feedback to improve the platform.

What You'll Do

• Create and maintain relationships with customer executives that contribute to large Net ARR deals and customer success
• Provide executive-level thought leadership on strategic opportunities (new logo and growth)
• Curate and manage field feedback while collaborating with product teams on roadmap and issue prioritization
• Scale and grow regional-level expertise across field teams (SAE/AE, SA, CSM) through enablement and content
• Act as a prospect and customer advocate on DevSecOps transformation initiatives
• Build and maintain subject matter expertise in GitLab targeted technology sectors through industry monitoring, working groups, and development projects
• Keep up to date on emerging methodologies and technologies to guide solution strategy and influence product direction

What You'll Bring

• Significant experience as a CTO or Principal Solutions Architect designing enterprise software development workflows
• Demonstrated track record delivering cybersecurity and compliance-related solutions and assessments
• Deep experience with modern software development tools, practices, and methodologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate strategies to all organizational levels (from executive to staff engineer)
• Ability and willingness to learn and use GitLab as an integral part of daily work
• Ability to travel and comply with company travel guidelines
