About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager, you will own GitLab's Secret Detection offering and the Vulnerability Research function. You will manage the full lifecycle of secret detection—from prevention and detection to validation and revocation—while treating detection content as a core product asset.

This is an outcome-owning role where you will be responsible for adoption, retention, and revenue targets for your product area.

  • Productize Intelligence: Manage detection rules, advisories, and intelligence feeds as a product, ensuring measurable quality and cadence.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high precision in detection; treat false positives as product defects.
  • Technical Leadership: Engage deeply with rule syntax, entropy heuristics, and scanner logic to challenge engineering with informed alternatives.
  • AI Integration: Leverage AI to streamline triage, rule generation, and remediation guidance.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, security research, threat intelligence, and Field teams to drive product success.

What You Bring

  • Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge in application security, vulnerability management, or security research.
  • Technical Credibility: Ability to reason about detection logic, data pipelines, and CI integration.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong focus on revenue mechanics, buyer motion, and competitive displacement.
  • AI Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to use AI as a force multiplier for research, analysis, and prototyping.
