Senior Product Manager, Source Code - GitLab

About the Role

GitLab is building the most comprehensive AI-powered DevSecOps platform. As a Senior Product Manager for Source Code, you will shape how planning and managing source code evolve in an AI-native software development lifecycle. You will focus on bridging the gap between requirements and code, ensuring teams can move from intent to customer value with speed and quality.

What You’ll Do

• Strategy: Define and drive product strategy for experiences connecting planning, source code management, and AI-assisted development.
• Workflow Design: Shape workflows where teams and agents move between intent and code, ensuring traceability from specifications to merge requests.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering, design, and product teams to build human-in-the-loop and autonomous development experiences.
• Prototyping: Partner on demos and prototypes, specifically regarding spec-driven planning and autonomous development modes.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Use customer insights and product usage data to identify high-impact opportunities.
• Lifecycle Integration: Collaborate across Plan, Source Code Management, Code Review, and AI product areas to reduce friction.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience: Proven track record as a product manager in developer tools, DevOps, SCM, or AI-native products.
• Technical Depth: Hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle (branches, MRs, CI/CD, releases) and the ability to engage deeply with engineering teams.
• AI Fluency: Experience building or shipping AI tools/agents with a clear perspective on where AI adds value in the SDLC.
• Ambiguity Management: Comfort operating in undefined market spaces.
• Communication: Strong collaboration skills suited for an all-remote, asynchronous environment.
• Bias for Action: A focus on shipping meaningful value quickly.
