As a Senior Team Member Relations Partner, you will guide managers through complex team member relations matters across GitLab's global organization. You will lead sensitive investigations, coach leaders through confidential workplace matters, and partner with Legal and People Business Partners to support a positive team member experience while mitigating organizational risk.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Investigations: Manage sensitive investigations from intake to resolution, including interviewing, data analysis, and report writing.
- Coach Leaders: Advise on complex issues such as performance management and risk mitigation.
- Proactive Programs: Support initiatives designed to prevent workplace issues before they escalate.
- Cross-functional Partnership: Collaborate with Legal and People Business Partners to ensure consistent decision-making.
- Policy Development: Help develop and revise policies as GitLab scales, ensuring alignment with global regulations and company values.
- Data Insights: Analyze case trends to inform risk-reduction strategies and organizational improvements.
- Global Governance: Interpret employment laws and regulations to provide guidance across various jurisdictions.
What You’ll Bring
- Progressive experience in employee or team member relations, specifically leading complex, multi-party investigations.
- Strong working knowledge of US employment law (FMLA, ADA, Title VII, EEOC). Experience with international regulations is a plus.
- Proven ability to influence change without direct authority in a distributed, global organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality investigation reports.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and empathy when handling sensitive, time-sensitive matters.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification is preferred.
