Principal People Team Business Partner - R&D

About the Role

Cloudflare is seeking a strategic, high-impact Principal People Team Business Partner to support our R&D organization (Product, Engineering, and Security). You will report to the Senior Director of People Team Business Partners and act as a key architect for organizational design, talent management, and systemic change leadership.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Advisory: Partner with R&D executive leadership to translate business objectives into long-term workforce strategies and succession plans.
• Insight-Driven Problem Solving: Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data—including AI-driven insights—to identify trends and design predictive people solutions.
• Change Leadership: Guide teams through hyper-growth, structural evolution, and shifting priorities while maintaining high engagement.
• Talent & Capability Building: Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to design initiatives for performance elevation, talent development, and total rewards.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive experience in People/HR roles.
• 3+ years operating as a Principal Business Partner for complex, fast-paced corporate functions.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to link HR strategy to operational outcomes.
• Experience leveraging AI and advanced digital tools to drive efficiency and data-driven insights.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale change initiatives in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide radical candor and influence at the executive level.
