Staff Product Manager, Agentic Test Intelligence - GitLab

About the Role

As Staff Product Manager for Test & Code Coverage, you will lead the strategy and execution of product capabilities that help engineering teams diagnose pipeline failures, optimize test automation, and leverage code coverage to improve software quality. You will partner with Engineering and Design to prototype agent-driven workflows that reduce manual toil and help developers recover safely to a shippable state.

What You'll Do

• Strategy & Roadmap: Define the product vision and outcome-focused roadmap from discovery through launch and iteration.
• Problem Solving: Identify customer pain points in pipeline failure diagnosis, test optimization, and coverage blind spots.
• Agentic Workflows: Partner with Engineering and Design to prototype AI-driven solutions for failure diagnosis, test repair, and recovery, ensuring actions are reviewable and safe.
• Customer Engagement: Work directly with customers to understand their testing practices and validate solutions.
• Outcome Measurement: Define and track metrics such as time-to-recover, failure recurrence, and developer confidence.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Influence stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to align on testing insights and release decisions.

What You'll Bring

• Experience owning complex technical products or developer platforms at a Staff, Senior Staff, or Principal level.
• Strong product fundamentals: discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, and iterative delivery.
• Technical fluency in CI/CD, software testing, test automation, or developer tools.
• Experience diagnosing technical problems and turning complex signals into actionable user experiences.
• Experience exploring AI or agent-driven solutions for developer workflows.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to influence across functions.
