Senior Product Designer, Knowledge Graph - Grafana Labs

Grafana Labs is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team working on Grafana Cloud’s Knowledge Graph.

Knowledge Graph powers the context layer of Grafana Cloud—enabling our entity graph, entity catalog, and root cause analysis (RCA) workbench. It automatically discovers services, infrastructure, and databases from existing telemetry, maps their dependencies, and runs anomaly detection to give engineers and SREs an up-to-date picture of their systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Enable customers to easily explore and understand how their systems connect to each other, finding clear ways to display complex, dynamic data without overwhelming the user.
• Translate user research and technical data into digestible experiences that break down complexity.
• Tailor user experiences across multiple target audiences and operational personas.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, technical writing, and GTM teams, as well as the broader Product Design team.
• Balance user needs, business priorities, and technical constraints to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Document user needs, pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed UI specifications.
• Plan and execute quantitative and qualitative research initiatives with users, customers, and open-source community members.
• Coach and mentor other designers while contributing to the evolution of design practices across Grafana Labs.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 7+ years of relevant product design experience working on enterprise or B2B software, ideally designing developer tools or infrastructure services.
• A strong portfolio showcasing effective UX/UI designs for complex, data-dense workflows.
• Experience conducting qualitative user research in highly technical or specialized domains.
• Proven ability to balance business goals, product strategy, technical constraints, and customer insights.
• Strong track record of shipping iterative design work in cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
• High attention to detail and curiosity to dive deep into a technical product ecosystem.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, 100% remote environment with a culture of autonomy and open communication.

Bonus Points For

• Experience designing data-dense visualizations and complex interface architectures.
• Domain knowledge in observability, cloud infrastructure, or database monitoring.
• Experience leveling up design practices within engineering-led organizations.
