Senior Solutions Engineer - Grafana Labs

The Opportunity

Grafana Labs is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our customer-facing team in Japan. As a Solutions Engineer, you will act as the bridge between our technical engineering teams, our sales organization, and our customers. You will be responsible for educating potential and existing customers, ensuring their success with the Grafana Cloud platform through demos, technical evaluations, and hands-on enablement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Technical Partnership: Partner with the Sales team to articulate the Grafana value proposition, vision, and strategy.
• Customer Engagement: Own the technical engagement, helping to close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge and technical credibility.
• Presentations: Deliver high-impact product and technical presentations to potential and existing customers.
• Feedback Loop: Communicate effectively with customers and internal product/engineering teams to provide feedback on products and the competitive landscape.
• Content Creation: Enhance documentation, write blog posts, record videos, and contribute to knowledge base articles.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Location: Must be based in Tokyo, Japan.
• Experience: 5+ years of technical pre-sales experience, ideally with Open Source technologies or in the Metrics/Monitoring space.
• Communication: First-class written and oral communication skills to collaborate with remote-first internal teams and global customers.
• Technical Mindset: A passion for solving technical challenges and a desire to grow technically.
• Methodology: Experience with sales methodologies like MEDD(P)ICC is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong judgment, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.

Compensation & Rewards

• Salary: OTE range of 14m - 18.5m JPY.
• Equity: All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) to ensure ownership in the company's success.
