About Product Management
As a Product Manager at Grafana Labs, you'll develop a vision and strategy for your product domain. You will own the experience for your product as well as its roadmap and competitive positioning, collaborating with leadership on product goals. You will act as the primary advocate and expert in your area, communicating needs, functionality, and details effectively to both external customers and internal stakeholders.
Product Managers connect R&D to GTM, facilitating the flow of information across globally distributed teams while remaining technically proficient when representing our products.
The Role
As the Staff Product Manager for Enterprise Deployment Solutions, you will own the Grafana Labs offerings that run outside our standard multi-tenant SaaS. This includes Grafana Federal Cloud (for FedRAMP-authorized observability needs across US federal agencies, SLED customers, and commercial partners) and Grafana Cloud Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) (delivering Grafana Cloud while the customer pays infrastructure directly to their cloud provider).
Your mission is to make Grafana Labs the obvious choice for organizations facing compliance, data sovereignty, or cost-at-scale constraints. You will adapt existing Grafana Cloud capabilities to these environments, decide feature prioritization, and help shape future deployment models.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Grafana Bring Your Own Cloud and Grafana Federal Cloud products using product data and market research.
- Own positioning, messaging, and differentiation for these products compared to standard Grafana Cloud.
- Partner with Product Marketing on product launches, competitive analysis, enablement, and demand programs.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Technical Program Management on environment buildouts, balancing customer timelines with engineering capacity.
- Work directly with customers, prospects, and the field on strategic deals; brief partners, resellers, and analysts on deployment options.
- Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal to address product changes affecting authorizations or customer commitments.
- Utilize AI tools daily to accelerate research, analyze product signals, and craft positioning.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience on a technical B2B product, or a technical background (software engineering, solutions architecture, SRE, or TPM) with a demonstrated transition into product ownership.
- Hands-on experience with non-standard SaaS deployment models (e.g., self-managed, air-gapped, sovereign, BYOC, single-tenant, FedRAMP/government cloud) and deep understanding of their product, operational, and economic impacts.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, platform software, or developer tools.
- Strong product and go-to-market judgment spanning positioning, packaging, and feature delivery.
- Interest in working with US public sector customers and learning their needs and buying cycles (deep compliance expertise is not required).
- Proven ability to lead across multiple teams without direct authority, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills in a remote, distributed setup.
Bonus Points
- Experience selling to or building for US federal, state, or local government customers, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with government or sovereign cloud frameworks (FedRAMP, StateRAMP/GovRAMP, BSI C5, SecNumCloud) or offerings like AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or sovereign cloud variants.
- Experience with pricing and packaging models across diverse deployment architectures.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, or data-intensive infrastructure platforms.
- Experience collaborating with resellers, systems integrators, or cloud marketplace partners.
- Familiarity with open source software or commercial open source business models.
