VP of Marketing - Help Scout

Who we are

Help Scout started in 2011 with a simple premise: support software should treat customers like people, not tickets. We are now in a new chapter: building AI that gives teams more space to focus on the customer experience and reimagining how we operate in an AI-native world. We have been a fully remote team since day one, with 120+ teammates globally.

Note: This role is 100% remote and open to US-based candidates at this time.

Your Impact

As VP of Marketing, you will lead our full-funnel marketing strategy at a pivotal moment. You will oversee Brand & Content, Performance Marketing, and Product Marketing, driving our new strategic narrative and ICP as we scale into the upmarket. You will be a hands-on leader, accountable for revenue and KPIs, while leveraging AI to drive efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Accountability: Own the marketing engine and KPIs that drive growth, not just individual campaigns.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor three core functions: Brand & Content, Performance Marketing, and Product Marketing.
  • Strategic Positioning: Drive our AI-native narrative and ICP, ensuring our story resonates with our target market.
  • Full-Funnel Execution: Support the entire customer journey from first touch through expansion.
  • AI Integration: Implement AI tools to sharpen team operations and accelerate product-to-market speed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in lockstep with Product, Sales, and RevOps to shape go-to-market strategy.
  • Systems & Data: Manage modern marketing systems and automation to ensure scalability and data-driven decision-making.

About You

  • Experience as a marketing leader or Head of Growth at a B2B SaaS company ($30M–$150M ARR).
  • Proven track record of leading organizations through narrative shifts or repositioning.
  • A clear point of view on how AI is transforming marketing operations and product reach.
  • Experience navigating complex business changes, such as pricing shifts or growth plateaus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and elevate teams in a remote environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with a transparent internal formula.
  • Flexible time off and 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave.
  • Home office stipend and monthly co-working stipend ($300).
  • Annual professional development stipend ($1,800).
