Senior Developer - Payments

About The Role

At Jane, we lead the Payments team, responsible for how clinics collect revenue. A significant portion of Jane's revenue flows through our systems, making this one of the most business-critical areas at the company.

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer who leans backend, brings strong architecture instincts, a bias to action, and open, energetic communication.

What Impact You'll Make

• Build customer-facing features that turn payments infrastructure into real value for clinics (IC+ pricing, surcharging, payment automation).
• Bring strong enterprise architecture patterns to design and scale payments systems for reliability.
• Communicate early and often in team channels, sharing context and surfacing risks in a distributed environment.
• Partner closely with product to take work from idea to shipped, measurable outcomes.
• Embrace AI tools as part of daily workflow and help raise the bar for how the team builds software.

What Experience We Need

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong backend expertise and enterprise architecture patterns.
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade systems, ideally within SaaS.
• Comfort working across the stack or a desire to grow into full-stack development.
• Strong bias to action paired with an open, collaborative communication style.
• Hands-on experience using AI in your software development workflow.
• Ruby on Rails experience is a nice-to-have.
• Experience with payments, financial systems, or adjacent domains is a plus.
