Senior Events Specialist - Field Marketing & Tradeshows

About The Role

Hi, I'm Erica, Senior Manager of Event Marketing at Jane. I lead our events team and work closely with the group day to day, setting strategic priorities, coaching on execution, and making sure we show up well everywhere we go.

This role holds two connected things. You'll own Jane's field marketing program—the dinners, happy hours, and gatherings we host in the markets that matter most to us—and you'll also carry a portfolio of tradeshows. The booth is how practitioners find us, and the field event is where we get to know them.

As Jane grows, both matter more. We're investing intentionally in how we show up at industry conferences, and we're building field marketing close to the ground up so our presence in a city is more than a booth for three days. That means this role is part strategy and part logistics. You'll be the person deciding where a local gathering will land well, and the person confirming the AV setup the night before.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to me. You'll shape the annual field marketing plan with me, run the events, manage the program budget, and build the playbooks, reporting, and training that let field marketing scale as the team grows.

This role includes travel within Canada and the United States approximately 30% of the time, typically three to four events per quarter for onsite execution at industry conferences, tradeshows, and field marketing events.

What You'll Be Doing

Field Marketing Program (Primary Ownership):

  • Develop the annual field marketing plan, identifying where local events will have the greatest impact based on market density, discipline focus, and Jane's strategic priorities.
  • Define clear objectives for each event and decide how to measure success before starting.
  • Lead end-to-end execution including creative concept, venue sourcing, vendor negotiation, budgeting, run of show, and onsite delivery.
  • Own pre-event strategy (audience targeting, messaging themes, invite approach) and post-event strategy (attendee follow-up, recap communications).
  • Establish a cohesive visual identity for field marketing across markets.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to co-host with ambassadors, associations, and schools in partnership with our Partnerships team.

Tradeshow Portfolio & Market Coordination:

  • Plan and execute Jane's exhibitor presence at assigned tradeshows (~15+ shows annually), including booth setup, staffing coordination, asset preparation, and product demos.
  • Partner with the tradeshow lead in each market so the booth and surrounding field event share the same audience focus and goals.
  • Own logistics: vendor and shipping coordination, event calendars, run sheets, and timelines.
  • Support overflow tradeshows as needed and contribute to annual event planning conversations across Canada and the US.

Budget, Reporting & Program Infrastructure:

  • Build and manage program-level budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations.
  • Establish and maintain a standardized reporting model covering attendance, engagement quality, cost per attendee, leads captured, and budget performance.
  • Manage event tech platforms for registration and partner with Marketing Operations on CRM tracking.
  • Design and deliver onboarding and training for new Events Specialists.

The Experience We Need

  • 5+ years in experiential event marketing, including owning both brand-hosted/field events and a portfolio of industry tradeshows (15+ shows per year).
  • Hands-on experience executing a company's exhibitor presence at tradeshows and conferences.
  • Experience designing an event program (setting objectives, choosing markets, defining success metrics, and building playbooks).
  • Strong financial acumen with experience building budgets, negotiating with vendors, and handling post-event reconciliation.
  • Comfort representing events in cross-functional conversations with senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics such as leads captured, attendee engagement, cost per attendee, and cost per lead.
  • Excellent organizational instincts and ability to handle multiple details while staying calm.
  • Care for event inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Comfort keeping projects moving in tools like Slack, Google Workspace, Monday, and Notion.
