About JumpCloud
JumpCloudยฎ is the AI-powered unified IT management platform designed to secure the modern workforce. By consolidating identity, device, and access management, JumpCloud provides intelligent, secure IT that scales from human users to autonomous AI agents. We help organizations around the globe eliminate complexity and turn AI risk into an optimized advantage, ensuring the right people and agents have secure access to the right resources at all times.
The Role
Every organization now runs on identities, devices and, increasingly, AI agents. Someone has to decide who and what gets access to what, and keep it secure. At JumpCloud, that is often a small IT team responsible for an entire workforce across Mac, Windows, Linux and mobile, using one platform in place of several. For them, the experience is the product. When it is clear, a lean team runs what once took a stack of tools and a much larger staff. When it is not, people get locked out and risks go unseen.
That experience will change more in the next two years than in the last ten. Admins will ask an assistant instead of opening a console. AI agents will need identities, permissions and oversight of their own. Some of our most important experiences will have no screen at all.
We are looking for the design leader who will define what comes next. You will set the experience vision for the platform, decide where design invests across the interface, AI and headless experiences, and build a team known for its craft and its judgment. You will sit with Product and Engineering leadership as an equal partner, and your measure will be simple: how much easier, safer and faster our customers' work becomes.
What We're Looking For
- Ownership of outcomes: You hold design to outcomes for customers and the business. You write down your plans, make decisions with Product and Engineering partners, and follow the work through to adoption.
- A clear view of where experience is going: Users increasingly work through AI assistants, agents and APIs as well as through our interface. You can turn that shift into priorities: what to improve in the UI, what to make AI-assisted, and what to make headless, backed by data.
- Craft and a high bar: You model the quality bar yourself, give specific and candid feedback, and build the standards and systems that keep quality consistent across a broad product.
- Hands-on with AI: In the last two to three years you have changed how a design team works with AI, in practice, from prototyping in code to research synthesis. You can show what worked and what did not.
- A leader who builds teams: You grow designers and managers across locations, hire well, and build shared ownership with Product and Engineering. You run the critiques and skillshares that sharpen the craft, add strength in end-to-end experience design, and build a team designers want to join.
What You'll Own
- Experience vision: A multi-year vision for the platform and the priorities that follow from it, across the admin console, the end-user experience, and AI-assisted and agent-driven workflows, in partnership with Product owners.
- Core workflows: With Product partners, our most important end-to-end workflows, held to one bar: consistent, intuitive, self-service, and reliable on both the success and failure paths.
- Trust and security in every flow: Permissions, policies, sign-in, recovery and alerts, designed so admins act with confidence and employees stay secure without friction.
- Adoption and onboarding: How customers discover, learn and adopt what we build, through in-product guidance, announcements and onboarding, measured by adoption of key workflows.
- Measuring experience: A clear measure of user satisfaction that brings together NPS, product feedback, support and research, and the actions the team takes on it.
- Research practice: Discovery, usability testing and post-launch measurement that shape decisions before they are made and show what changed after.
- Quality and craft: Design reviews that hold a clear bar, accessibility standards, and the strategy and governance of our design system, including how it carries through from Figma to code.
- Team and capacity: How the team is organized, where its time goes, and the design operations (documentation, standards and workflows) that help a distributed team move fast, so design investment follows company priorities.
- AI-enabled design practice: How the whole team uses AI, from discovery and synthesis to prototyping in code, made practical and repeatable.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in product design, including 4+ years leading design managers and multi-disciplinary teams in B2B SaaS.
- A track record of experience improvements with measurable results, such as adoption, task success, support volume or NPS.
- Experience shaping AI-powered or agent-driven product experiences, with a point of view on where they are heading.
- Experience designing complex, technical or security-critical products. Identity, security, device management, IT or developer tools experience is a strong plus.
- Hands-on building and prototyping in code with AI tools such as Claude or Cursor, plus advanced Figma fluency: components, variables, tokens and design systems at scale.
- Clear, confident communication with senior leaders, including when the answer is no.
Good to Have
- Experience leading distributed teams across time zones (US, India, & Turkey are where our designers are).
- A portfolio with two or three case studies that show your work from problem to shipped outcome, including how you use AI.
