
About the Role
Linear is looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our Data team. You will work across Product, Engineering, and GTM teams to build the systems that make data accessible and actionable. As a small, high-impact team, we focus on building durable, maintainable data infrastructure while leveraging modern tools to accelerate our workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Data Modeling & Pipelines: Build and maintain dbt models and pipelines to create trusted views of our product, customers, and business.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product and GTM teams (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance) to turn ambiguous operational needs into metrics, models, and analyses.
- Infrastructure Ownership: Design maintainable data models and improve the testing, documentation, and performance of our data stack.
- Reporting: Build self-service dashboards in Metabase and Hex.
- Operationalization: Partner with GTM Engineering on reverse ETL, scoring, and segmentation to help our teams scale.
- Innovation: Leverage emerging tools, LLMs, and coding agents to accelerate development and analysis.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 8+ years in analytics engineering, data analytics, or data engineering at a fast-moving software company.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional SQL skills and strong hands-on experience with dbt and modern cloud data warehouses.
- Ownership: A track record of owning data projects end-to-end, from problem definition to shipping reliable solutions.
- Judgment: Strong data modeling judgment regarding grain, dependencies, and maintainability.
- Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between technical implementation and business context.
- Modern Workflow: Comfortable using LLMs and coding agents in your day-to-day development.
