The Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to guide the architecture, reliability, and operational excellence of our mission-critical platform. You will drive strategic initiatives for scalability, observability, and automation while mentoring a globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the SRE function.
• Lead the design and optimization of production-grade containerized workloads and infrastructure-as-code.
• Establish observability, monitoring, and alerting frameworks for performance and capacity planning.
• Drive incident management, on-call rotations, and root cause analysis.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to meet FedRAMP, DoD, and data sovereignty requirements.
• Oversee cloud cost management and capacity planning.
• Build and maintain a developer platform to enable fast, secure software delivery.
• Mentor and coach SRE team members to foster a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
• Proven expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Strong background in AWS.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and incident management skills for distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams in a remote-first environment.
• Ability to meet U.S. federal eligibility requirements for export-controlled information (EAR/ITAR) and potential security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Grafana and Prometheus.
• Experience with GCP and Azure.
• Leadership experience in highly regulated industries (defense, finance, critical infrastructure).
• Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, DoD ATO, NIST 800-53).
• Experience with cloud provider marketplaces (AWS, Azure, GCP).
