Job Summary

The Program Manager, Product Development plays a critical role in supporting the Chief of Staff, Product Development, by driving operational efficiency, financial planning, and strategic execution across the product development organization. This role oversees product development planning, process optimization, standardization initiatives, and ongoing strategic projects.

Additionally, the Program Manager manages departmental reporting at weekly, monthly, and quarterly intervals, assists with roadmap documentation, and develops educational materials to align stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program & Portfolio Management: Assist in planning and managing product development programs and initiatives to align with business objectives.
  • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Support financial planning processes, track budgets, forecast expenditures, and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Process Optimization & Standardization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization across product development teams.
  • Strategic Project Execution: Lead and coordinate cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables are met.
  • Departmental & Team Reporting: Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting frameworks to ensure consistent, actionable insights and tracked KPIs.
  • Documentation & Roadmap Support: Standardize content publishing, maintenance, and organization of documentation supporting product roadmaps.
  • Educational & Training Materials: Develop resources and presentations to educate internal stakeholders on product development processes and strategic initiatives.
  • Release Support: Coordinate, manage, and assist with program release plans to ensure readiness for seasonal launches.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Finance, Engineering, and other teams to align and execute strategic priorities.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Track and identify potential risks and roadblocks in product development initiatives and collaborate to mitigate issues proactively.
  • Governance & Planning: Provide initial and interim planning, governance, and management for quarterly, bi-annual, and annual R&D investment planning.
  • Methodology Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve program management practices regarding pace, cost, and quality.
  • Annual User Conference: Support planning, coordination, and content creation for product development discovery and innovation sessions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing technical projects and programs.
  • Strong proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Jellyfish), data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and financial tracking tools.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to drive insights from data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior and executive leadership.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to collaborate, build models, and influence without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in SaaS platforms and products.
  • Professional certification in project/program management (PMP).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

Working Environment & Travel

  • Remote work within the United States.
  • Air or long-distance travel as needed, not to exceed 10%.
  • Primary physical demands involve prolonged periods working at a computer monitor.
