
About the Role
The Web Infrastructure team builds the foundations behind Notion’s web clients, including client architecture, performance, reliability, and shared design systems. As Engineering Manager, you will lead the team through the evolution of Notion Clients, set strategy, develop senior engineers and managers, and partner across the organization to improve product speed and reliability.
Note: This role requires working from the San Francisco office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days).
What You'll Achieve

- Development: Recruit, coach, and develop engineers, ensuring regular feedback and professional growth.
- Planning: Facilitate prioritization, sequencing, and staffing of work.
- Quality & Execution: Maintain a high-quality bar for all deliverables and ensure a steady cadence of value delivery.
- Organizational Impact: Shape engineering practices, recruiting strategies, and planning processes.

- Experience rolling out engineering/management practices (code review, performance reviews, levels/ladders).
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple offices.
- Familiarity with computing pioneers (e.g., Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay).
