About the Role

We’re rolling out Go support at production scale and need an owner to make it durable. You’ll lead the work to turn Go into a fully supported, well-operated platform, including reliable service patterns, tooling stacks, and guardrails. This role sits within Developer Experience and will tackle high-leverage engineering productivity challenges, including AI-assisted workflows, CI performance, and reliability tooling.

Note: This role is hybrid, requiring presence in our San Francisco or New York offices on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

What You'll Achieve

• Build out Notion’s next fully supported language (Go) with a clear operating model.
• Own the success of Go as a platform while tackling engineering productivity bottlenecks.
• Establish safe, reliable frameworks for deployment, observability, and production standards.
• Enable service architecture and maintenance through AI-enabled tooling.
• Ship a concrete “Go platform v1” within 90 days to unblock production teams.

Skills You'll Need

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Deep Go expertise, including operating production services at scale.
• Track record of defining and driving platforms (libraries, golden paths, migration playbooks).
• Strong systems judgment: ability to make explicit trade-offs between speed, safety, and flexibility.
• A drive to improve developer experience and keep engineers in their flow state.
• Pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with a willingness to adopt AI tools.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with AI-enabled developer tooling (scaffolding, automation).
• Experience operating production-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Familiarity with TypeScript in large-scale codebases.
