Project Manager - Sonatype

Sonatype is the software supply chain security company, combining proactive protection against malicious open source, enterprise-grade SBOM management, and the leading open source dependency management platform. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Product Organization.

Reporting to a Product Program Manager, this role drives the successful execution of complex, cross-functional technical initiatives, focusing on data-centric projects spanning multiple product segments (SCA, Repository, Platform, and Data).

What You’ll Do

• Project Execution & Ownership: Own assigned projects from planning through completion, building detailed project plans across concurrent tech/SaaS initiatives.
• Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks and cross-team dependencies.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate across segments and teams (Engineering, Product, Marketing, CS, and Support) to align deliverables.
• Project Health & Reporting: Maintain visibility into project milestones, status, risks, and changes, providing concise updates to leadership.
• Obstacle Removal: Host regular syncs, manage communications, and clear blockers for engineering and product teams.
• Decision & Management: Drive timely resolution of cross-functional decisions and escalate issues when necessary.
• Process Automation: Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline workflows and reduce administrative overhead.

What You Bring

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in technical Project Management within SaaS or technology companies.
• Complex Deliverables: Track record of managing complex, cross-functional tech and data projects with multiple dependencies.
• Technical Fluency: Understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, architecture dependencies, and software delivery processes.
• Planning Through Ambiguity: Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous initiatives into structured execution plans.
• Communication: Ability to synthesize complex project info into actionable updates for senior leadership.
• AI & Automation Mindset: Active user of AI tools and automation strategies to optimize workflows.
• Tools: Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Google Workspace.
• Location: Comfortable working effectively in a distributed, remote environment (Colombia).
• Certifications (Bonus): PMP certification is a plus.
