Senior Staff Software Engineer - Webflow

About the Role

Webflow is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical future of our 'Convert' product suite. You will architect high-throughput distributed systems and drive the technical strategy for experimentation, personalization, and analytics infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Vision: Set long-term architecture for backend systems powering conversion optimization.
• System Design: Architect high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and APIs for large-scale event data.
• Leadership: Lead complex, multi-team initiatives from strategy through implementation and operational ownership.
• Collaboration: Partner with data science and ML teams to productionize AI/ML capabilities into reliable infrastructure.
• Mentorship: Raise the engineering bar through architecture reviews, technical standards, and mentorship of staff and senior engineers.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems.
• Strong foundation in Python, Java, or Go.
• Proven track record of designing and operating high-throughput, data-intensive production systems.
• Experience influencing cross-pillar technical strategy and engineering roadmaps.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
• Proactive mindset toward AI integration and emerging technologies.
