Acorns is hiring a Growth Marketing Sr. Associate to own new channel testing, starting with Snapchat. You will run each channel end to end, find and test the next ones, and drive user growth across Acorns and Acorns Early. You will report to the Senior Paid Acquisition Manager, who sets direction and leaves you room to run.
You will work independently from the first week. We are a small team that moves fast, and we want someone who thrives in a scrappy, startup-like environment. You've built something from nothing before, whether that's launching a new acquisition channel, developing a growth strategy, or finding a way to drive meaningful results with limited resources. You're resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, and know how to turn small experiments into scalable growth. You will make daily calls on budget, bids, and creative, and bring a point of view on where we should spend next. You will partner with Analytics, Creative, and channel reps to take a test from idea to scale.
Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely while providing optional access to office space in Irvine, CA.
What You Will Do
Channel Ownership & Execution
- Own testing across all new channels, starting with Snapchat, end to end: account setup, budget, tracking, launch, and optimization.
- Make the daily CPA and LTV:CAC calls: when to scale, when to hold, and when to kill a test.
- Build and run a testing roadmap for emerging channels we are not on yet. Every test has a plan, success criteria, and a kill threshold.
- Brief Creative on what each platform and audience responds to, and iterate on assets based on results.
- Bring tradeoffs, such as scale versus efficiency or a new channel versus a proven one, to the Senior Paid Acquisition Manager with your recommendation attached.
Measurement & Reporting
- Pull and analyze your own performance data across platform dashboards, your MMP, and backend results, and reconcile the differences.
- Set tests up to succeed: clean design, tracking verified before launch, and a QA pass before any spend.
- Identify incrementality and lift study opportunities, work with Analytics on the test structure, and own launch and monitoring of each experiment.
- Report results with the decision attached: what we found and what we are doing about it.
- Keep a running record of test results, including the ones that failed, so each test shapes the next roadmap.
Cross-Brand & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Drive acquisition growth across Acorns and Acorns Early.
- Work closely with Analytics, Creative, and other marketing teammates to run experiments efficiently. We want someone who is easy to work with and makes the team around them better.
- Track where advertising is heading and bring us ideas for emerging channels unprompted, each with a hypothesis and a test plan.
What You Will Bring
- 4-5+ years in performance marketing or paid social with a BS/BA, or equivalent work experience.
- You thrive in scrappy, startup-like environments. You've built and launched a growth strategy or paid channel from zero to one, working with limited budgets and resources. You know how to be resourceful, test quickly, and find creative ways to make things work. You can point to something you built from scratch that delivered measurable results and helped scale the business.
- You have owned at least one paid social channel end to end (Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Reddit, or similar), including setup, budget, tracking, and in-platform optimization. Managing an agency alone does not meet this bar.
- You have run direct-response optimization: you make CPA and/or ROAS decisions, read test results honestly, and know when to scale or cut.
- You have taken a channel that was new to your company and made it work, and you can share the results.
- You pull and analyze your own data, with spreadsheets as your baseline, and can explain where a number came from and why platform-reported results differ from backend results. You have working knowledge of MMPs (Adjust, AppsFlyer), pixels, SDKs, and last-touch attribution. You understand what incrementality testing and MMM are and why they matter, even if you have not run them yourself.
- You bring channel ideas with a test plan and kill criteria, and you stay current on industry trends instead of leaning on the same playbook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; you follow processes carefully, flag questions early, and aren’t afraid to modify your approach when the situation calls for it. You are careful with details: you verify tracking, QA setups before spend, and catch what others miss in the data and the creative.
- You can explain the tradeoffs behind a call you made, and what you took from a test that failed.
- You communicate clearly in writing and conversation, and can turn experiment results into a recommendation stakeholders can act on.
- You believe your work connects to something bigger. Helping everyday people build financial security is core to what we do, and we want teammates energized by that.
You are not expected to have experience with every platform listed. If you’re passionate about Acorns’ mission and eager to grow in performance marketing, we encourage you to apply.
