Content Marketing Manager - Canonical

About the Role

Canonical is looking for communications and storytelling specialists to join our team. This role is for someone who cares deeply about narrative quality and wants to elevate our brand positioning. You will work in close partnership with Product Management, Alliances, Sales, and Marketing teams to communicate key company news and manage the perception of Canonical and its products.

What your day will look like

  • Strategy: Develop and execute a content marketing strategy that aligns with business goals, SEO, and brand identity.
  • Production: Manage the end-to-end content calendar, ensuring efficient production with process clarity.
  • Quality Control: Ensure content quality, consistency, and brand alignment across all outputs.
  • Optimization: Collaborate with the web team to optimize content for search and AI engines, leveraging SEO/GEO expertise.
  • Analytics: Monitor and report on KPIs, using data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Integration: Align messaging across channels to support integrated campaigns.

What we are looking for in you

  • 2-7 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proven experience creating authoritative content or leading large-scale brand campaigns (Portfolio required).
  • Strong strategic thinking grounded in consumer insight and audience awareness.
  • Technical curiosity and interest in software technology.
  • Data-driven approach to communications and content measurement.
  • Exceptional academic track record.
  • Business-level written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel internationally 2-4 times a year for company events.

Nice-to-have skills

  • Applied knowledge of AEO/GEO and SEO.
  • Experience in B2B technology marketing or communications.
  • Experience developing strategies for enterprise technology products.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Jira.
