
About the Role
Canonical is seeking an experienced Executive Search Lead to join our Talent Science team. You will lead the effort in teaching senior executives how to source and attract top-tier leadership talent. This is not a traditional recruiting role; it is a data-driven, scientific approach to talent acquisition within a global, remote-first organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Search Strategy: Develop and execute search strategies to ensure headhunted talent moves smoothly through the pipeline.
- Leadership Coaching: Coach senior leadership teams to become experts in approaching and attracting exceptional talent.
- Talent Analytics: Utilize SQL or Python to provide real-time insights, identify trends, and drive data-backed hiring decisions.
- Assessment: Conduct in-depth behavioral talent interviews and provide expert insights into candidate motivations and behaviors.
- Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with global stakeholders to ensure consistency in operational processes and delivery against hiring agendas.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive diversity and inclusion initiatives by removing unconscious bias from sourcing and hiring processes.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Professional background in headhunting from a reputable executive search firm or an in-house search function within the Technology industry.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability with proficiency in SQL or Python to identify data patterns.
- Interviewing: Expertise in conducting behavioral, competency-based interviews and training stakeholders on assessment best practices.
- Education: Exceptional academic background, including a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or a people-based subject, plus a strong level of mathematics.
- Tools: Proficiency in LinkedIn talent modules; exposure to Greenhouse ATS, Thomas International, or DISC profiling is a plus.
- Remote Readiness: High level of personal organization and the ability to work effectively in a distributed environment.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to company events 2–4 times per year for up to two weeks at a time.
