Lead HR Generalist - Americas

About the Role

Canonical is seeking a Lead HR Generalist to drive HR strategy and operations across the Americas. As a key member of our global HR team, you will partner with regional leadership to shape the future of our HR function, ensuring compliant, scalable, and high-impact people operations.

Key Responsibilities

• HR Operations: Deliver precise, compliant HR operations with high accuracy.
• Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the Americas HR Manager and Global Head of HR to influence regional and global initiatives.
• Employee Lifecycle: Manage talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, and engagement.
• Business Partnering: Advise managers on organizational design, rewards, workforce planning, and employee relations.
• Process Improvement: Partner with the HRIS team to refine administrative workflows.
• DEI & Policy: Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and design global HR policies.

What We Are Looking For

• Exceptional academic track record.
• Proven HR experience leading regional initiatives within a technology business.
• Regional HR expertise in Latin America (Brazil/Mexico experience is a plus).
• Strong ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on daily HR execution.
• Experience mentoring others and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Strong project management skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Fluency in business English.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Nice to Have

• Experience with immigration/mobility, payroll, or benefits oversight.
• Professional HR certifications and facilitation skills.
