
About the Role
Canonical is seeking experienced Product Managers to lead teams across our diverse software portfolio. As a Manager, you will guide a team of product managers, mentor them for success, and ensure alignment with company goals. You will set clear product visions, prioritize work, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet business and user needs.
Responsibilities
- Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of product managers, fostering growth and resolving conflicts.
- Strategy: Lead the product development lifecycle, conduct market research, and analyze industry trends.
- Execution: Oversee multiple product lines, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to drive go-to-market strategies.
- Communication: Clearly articulate product vision, status updates, and key decisions to stakeholders.
- Customer Focus: Gather customer feedback, participate in meetings, and iterate on products based on usability testing.
What We Are Looking For
- Exceptional academic background.
- Strong understanding of Linux and the open-source software community.
- Technical knowledge of computer architecture, cloud, or application development.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring product managers or cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining focus on key priorities.
- Outstanding communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for company events.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with specific verticals (Telco, Finance, Automotive, etc.).
- Experience with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Snaps).
- Experience managing distributed teams across time zones.
