
About the Role
Canonical is seeking Product Managers to drive the vision and execution of our open source software portfolio. As a Product Manager, you will act as a technologist, overseeing the product lifecycle from conception to delivery. You will set clear visions, prioritize work, and ensure our products meet the evolving needs of the global enterprise market.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Lifecycle: Lead development, review goals, and ensure consistency in strategy and execution.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams.
- Market Analysis: Conduct research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify new opportunities.
- Strategy & Communication: Communicate product vision and status updates; manage stakeholder expectations.
- User Experience: Conduct usability testing and iterate based on user feedback.
- Go-to-Market: Partner with sales and marketing to develop strategies, documentation, and training.
What We Are Looking For
- Exceptional academic background (high school and university).
- Strong understanding of Linux and the open source ecosystem.
- Technical knowledge of computer architecture, cloud, or application development.
- Passion for technology and the ability to write about the tech landscape.
- Strong sense of ownership, problem-solving skills, and a drive for continuous learning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive consensus across diverse teams.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for company events.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in specific verticals (Telco, Finance, Automotive, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Snaps).
- Experience with networking technologies or embedded/connected device ecosystems.
- Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
