About the Role

Canonical is seeking a Product Manager to drive the commercial strategy and marketing leadership for our cloud-native operations product areas, specifically focusing on Juju, Identity Management, and Observability.

As a Product Manager at Canonical, you will act as a technologist, setting the vision and direction to ensure our teams deliver the right products to the right markets. You will work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to advance the open-source community and elevate our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle: Lead product development by reviewing priorities and goals.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Work with engineering leads to oversee the development process.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Align with design, marketing, and sales to address challenges and keep execution on track.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to inform product strategy.
  • Team Development: Coach, mentor, and train team members to build high-performing teams.
  • Reporting: Establish KPIs for project status and communicate progress across the organization.
  • Sales Support: Contribute to sales success by reviewing customer feedback and participating in meetings.

What We Are Looking For

  • Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to open-source software and cloud-native landscapes.
  • Experience designing or managing software operations for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise security and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive execution.
  • Passion for technical writing and developer marketing.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with CNCF projects, identity, or observability systems.
  • Insatiable intellectual curiosity and visionary leadership.
  • Strong sense of ownership and problem-solving abilities.
