About the Role

Canonical is looking for a Product Manager to join our team. This is a general application track for product management positions, where we will identify specific software products that align with your interests and expertise during the interview process. You will set a clear vision, prioritize work effectively, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet business and user needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle: Lead the product development lifecycle, reviewing priorities and goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Strategy & Execution: Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify new opportunities.
  • Communication: Communicate product vision, status updates, and key decisions to ensure alignment.
  • User Experience: Conduct usability testing and analyze feedback to iterate on product improvements.
  • Go-to-Market: Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop strategies, documentation, and training.
  • Leadership: Oversee product lines, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution while resolving conflicts across teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • Exceptional academic results at high school and university levels.
  • Strong understanding of Linux and the open source software community.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud, or devices.
  • Passion for technology and the ability to write about the tech landscape.
  • Strong work ethic, sense of ownership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining focus on key priorities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for company events.

Additional Valued Skills

  • Familiarity with specific verticals (Telco, Finance, Automotive, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Snaps).
  • Knowledge of networking technologies (IPv4/IPv6, routing, OVN/OVS, VPNs).
  • Experience leading distributed teams across different time zones.
