About the Role

Canonical is seeking a Regional HR Manager for EMEA to join our global People team. As we continue to scale, you will lead our regional HR professionals, ensuring precise, compliant, and scalable operations. You will partner with senior leadership to shape the future of our HR function while maintaining a hands-on approach to daily HR routines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and scale the regional HR team across EMEA.
  • HR Operations: Deliver accurate, compliant, and timely HR operations.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with senior managers on organizational design, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Employee Lifecycle: Oversee talent development, succession planning, onboarding, and engagement initiatives.
  • Employee Relations: Coach managers on complex ER issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Global Alignment: Work with the broader People team to standardize processes and drive global HR projects.
  • Advocacy: Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and represent Canonical at company events.

What We Are Looking For

  • Exceptional academic track record.
  • Proven HR experience leading regional initiatives within a technology business.
  • Strong people management experience and senior stakeholder business partnering.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
  • Experience working in a remote-first organization.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret trends.
  • Deep knowledge of EMEA employment law and complex ER matters.
  • Fluent in business English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with immigration policies and mobility processes.
  • Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM).
  • Strong facilitation skills.
