
About the Role
As a Senior Organisational Development Practitioner at Canonical, you will set the bar for coaching and organisational development. You will coach leaders to achieve management excellence, diagnose organisational health, and drive plans to improve leadership effectiveness. This is a high-impact, hands-on role requiring you to operate both centrally and embedded within engineering and commercial teams.
What You Will Deliver
Raising Individual Leaders
- Coach leaders to meet a clear standard of management excellence.
- Facilitate difficult conversations and ensure 360-degree feedback leads to actionable commitments.
Lifting Organisations
- Perform sharp, initial diagnoses of organisational health and own the resulting improvement plans.
- Contribute to defining and implementing new ways of working across our globally distributed company.
Building the Function
- Mentor and develop practitioners in the field to improve their craft.
- Define what 'exceptional' looks like at Canonical and hold the practice to those standards.
- Refine management-excellence frameworks based on field insights.

- Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English.
- Education: An exceptional academic track record.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Management consulting background.
- Experience coaching within fast-moving, technical, distributed organisations.
- Experience building competency or development frameworks.
- Workshop design and facilitation skills (in-person and online).
