About the Role

Canonical is hiring a Silicon Alliance Partner Manager to drive joint initiatives and technical engagements with major semiconductor partners. You will work at the intersection of open-source software and hardware innovation, helping partners optimize their products for Ubuntu.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with product, engineering, and alliance teams at silicon partners to align on open-source strategies.
  • Execution: Ensure Canonical’s product requirements are clear and delivery is executed as planned.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with engineering teams to integrate and optimize Ubuntu; act as the primary product champion.
  • Go-to-Market: Coordinate with marketing and product teams on messaging, content creation, and launch plans.
  • Content Creation: Develop partner- and customer-facing materials, including webinars, presentations, videos, and white papers.
  • Adoption: Drive Ubuntu adoption across partner products and advocate for its benefits to key stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: Exceptional academic track record; Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, or engineering.
  • Industry Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of the semiconductor industry and ecosystem.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in software and system architecture.
  • Business Acumen: Customer-facing experience in business development, technology strategy, or similar functions.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to synthesize complex material and communicate effectively.
  • Mindset: Ability to think and work at both strategic and tactical levels; self-motivated for a remote-first environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with open source software and business models.
  • Team leadership or program management experience.
  • Understanding of marketing and go-to-market strategy.
  • Experience working with Chinese-based tech companies.
