Principal Partner Solutions Architect - Cockroach Labs

The Role

As the Principal Solutions Architect for the Americas partner team, you will serve as the technical authority across our Cloud, ISV, OEM, and GSI partner motions. This is a builder role where you will combine deep technical credibility with proactive strategic leadership to drive CockroachDB's market reach.

You Will

• Formulate and execute technical partner strategy and GTM plans in collaboration with Business Development.
• Develop a full content arsenal, including white papers, technical blogs, webinars, and integration walkthroughs.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to partners during discovery and opportunity identification.
• Lead architectural discussions and integration planning from developer teams to C-suite executives.
• Build and publish reusable technical assets such as validated architectures, integration SDKs, and reference implementations.
• Utilize AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT) to accelerate asset creation and automate workflows.
• Support POCs and technical validation for internal teams and partners.

You Have

• 10+ years in pre-sales, solutions architecture, partner engineering, or technical consulting.
• A proven body of published technical work (repos, white papers, blogs, etc.).
• Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong technical skills in relational databases, distributed systems, and SQL (PostgreSQL/CockroachDB experience is a plus).
• Excellent public speaking skills with experience presenting at conferences and executive briefings.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Strong business acumen regarding partner economics and marketplace dynamics.

Expectations

• First 30 Days: Learn the CockroachDB product, AI-native tooling stack, and Americas partner landscape.
• First 90 Days: Ship at least one reusable technical asset, integrate AI tools into daily workflows, and establish technical leadership within the regional partner ecosystem.
