Software Alliances Director, Americas - Canonical

About the Role

The Software Alliances team at Canonical works with leading software companies to optimize and enable their products with Ubuntu and other Canonical software, including our AI offerings. We develop joint product roadmaps, drive delivery, and formulate go-to-market plans, content, and processes to enable differentiated offerings and robust product life-cycle support.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy: Set account strategy for major accounts, regions, or verticals.
• Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and marketing teams to align on open-source strategies.
• Partner Enablement: Capture requirements, identify gaps, and drive Ubuntu adoption within targeted alliance accounts.
• Content Creation: Develop reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, presentations, and white papers.
• Go-to-Market: Coordinate messaging and launch plans to influence partners to build with Canonical technology.
• Travel: Up to 25% travel, including internationally, for internal conferences and partner meetings.

What We Are Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in business development or product management.
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and influence.
• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, or engineering.
• Experience in software development and system architecture.
• Customer-facing experience in technology strategy or similar functions.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to C-suite stakeholders.
• Disciplined, self-motivated, and capable of working in a remote-first environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with open-source business models.
• Sector-specific experience in finance, telecommunications, automotive, or public sectors.
• Working knowledge of ISV/IHV go-to-market motions.
• Post-graduate degree in a STEM field.
