Software Alliances Director, EMEA - Canonical

About the Role

The Software Alliances team at Canonical works with leading software companies to optimize and enable their products with Ubuntu and other Canonical software, including our AI offerings. We develop joint product roadmaps, drive delivery, and formulate go-to-market plans, content, and processes to enable differentiated offerings and robust product life-cycle support.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy: Set account strategy for major accounts, regions, or verticals.
• Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and marketing teams to align on open-source strategies.
• Execution: Capture partner requirements, identify gaps, and drive Canonical opportunities.
• Content Creation: Develop reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, presentations, and white papers.
• Adoption: Drive Ubuntu adoption within alliance accounts and lead enablement training for partner teams.
• Travel: Up to 25% international travel for internal conferences and partner meetings.

What We Are Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in business development or product management.
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and influence.
• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, or engineering.
• Experience in software development and system architecture.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting to stakeholders from individual contributors to the C-suite.
• Disciplined, self-motivated approach to remote-first work.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with open source business models.
• Sector-specific experience in finance, telecommunications, automotive, or public sectors.
• Post-graduate degree in a STEM field.
