About the Role

Canonical is seeking a Talent Scientist to lead our graduate hiring strategy. This is not a traditional recruiter role; it is a scientific, data-driven position focused on optimizing how we select world-class junior talent. You will partner with top-ranked universities globally, build automations, and provide expert insights to ensure our hiring processes are objective, rigorous, and efficient.

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Partnerships: Build and manage relationships with leading academic institutions to raise awareness of Canonical’s graduate opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Drive talent analytics to provide real-time insights, build dashboards, and ensure our hiring processes are robust and efficient.
  • Talent Assessment: Conduct in-depth behavioral interviews and provide expert guidance on psychometric assessments to predict and measure hiring outcomes.
  • Process Optimization: Review and streamline hiring tools and workflows, ensuring consistency and removing unconscious bias.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with global stakeholders to drive the hiring agenda and maximize return on investment with third-party platforms.

What We Are Looking For

  • Academic Excellence: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or a people-related subject, with a strong academic track record.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and a highly data-driven mindset capable of creating measurable outcomes.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in technology industry hiring, with a specific focus on graduate recruitment.
  • Scientific Approach: Passion for evidence-based hiring, including experience with or appreciation for psychometric assessments and competency-based interviewing.
  • Operational Excellence: High level of personal organization and the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to company events 2-4 times a year (up to two weeks per trip).
