Senior Manager, Business Operations - Clutch

About the Role

Clutch is at a pivotal moment. We're growing significantly year over year, and we need more connective tissue to keep pace. We're hiring a Senior Manager, Business Operations to connect the commercial side of the house, so the teams that win, onboard, and retain our customers work from the same facts and toward the same goals. This role sits in Finance.

This is a people manager role. You'll lead our Revenue Operations (RevOps) team and act as an operating partner to senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Implementation, People, and Finance. Together with the RevOps team, you own the shared language of the business (definitions, data, and processes) so commercial teams make decisions from one view of it.

When something important doesn't have an owner yet, it lands with you: a partnership strategy, a new commercial model, or pricing and margin guidance for leadership. This is a fast-moving startup. We're building toward a much larger company but we aren't one yet, and most of this role has no playbook. You'll define the process, build the tool, and hand it to the team.

About the Team

You'll report to the Director of Business Operations and work directly with senior leaders across the company as a neutral partner to every function rather than an advocate for one. Your work will be visible, and it will significantly influence how we make commercial decisions.

You'll lead a small, high-ownership RevOps team that runs the systems and data our commercial teams depend on, and creates leverage for them to do their jobs even better. The team doesn't just own systems; they build automation, tooling, and processes, and they're close partners to Sales and Marketing. You'll coach them, set priorities, and open up more strategic scope, while giving them real autonomy.

What You'll Do

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Learn the business end-to-end: the revenue funnel, the customer lifecycle, how each commercial team works day-to-day, and where decisions get stuck.
  • Build trust with your RevOps team: learn the work they own, and set priorities and team rhythms together.
  • Deliver the first version of client-level margin and cost-to-serve analysis that grounds our pricing strategy.
  • Develop a first point of view on pricing and packaging for revenue leadership.
  • Put AI to work in your own workflow from week one, and identify the first set of manual, repetitive processes across commercial teams worth automating.

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Stand up a first version of a deal desk, including an approval workflow, pricing and discount guardrails, and standard commercial terms.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leaders as they prepare for the monthly business review: pressure-test their plans and point out risks, then solve them with the RevOps team through new processes, tooling, or automation.
  • Build on the strength of the RevOps team: prioritize its roadmap against business outcomes and take on more strategic work together.
  • Launch your first AI-enabled workflows or automations that remove manual reporting or reconciliation for the commercial teams, tracking time saved.

Within 9 months, you will:

  • Have a team whose output and standards hold, with the processes, tooling, and automation you've built running smoothly without you in the room.
  • Have AI-enabled, self-serve tooling that commercial teams use day to day, with measurable time savings.
  • Be the person leadership trusts to pick up the next important thing that doesn't have an owner yet.

What You'll Bring

  • 5–8 years of total experience combining consulting or banking with operator experience inside a company.
  • People management experience: coached ICs, given direct feedback, made tough talent calls, and built team rhythms.
  • Startup experience: worked in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment where you built structure from scratch.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including forecasting. Comfortable building spreadsheet models from scratch that hold up to scrutiny.
  • Data-first & self-sufficient: comfortable diving into raw datasets before building slides or testing ideas.
  • Commercial acumen: able to read commercial terms, spot problematic clauses, and reason about pricing, discounting, margin, and deal structure.
  • Clear communicator: able to walk executives through messy problems to reach a decision, and equally effective alongside an AE, CSM, or engineer.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: instinct to build structure rather than wait for it.
  • Relentless follow-through: close loops reliably.
  • Partner's temperament: challenge constructively without taking sides, surface problems early, and resolve cross-team conflict.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry experience in fintech, financial services, lending, banking, or credit unions.

What's In It For You

  • Remote Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of working remotely balance life and career seamlessly.
  • Stock Options: Receive stock options as part of your compensation package.
  • Health Coverage: Comprehensive health and dental insurance plans.
  • Paid Time Off: Flexible PTO days yearly.
  • Home Office Setup: Dedicated budget for home office essentials.
  • Work Trip & Off-Sites: Twice-a-year team off-sites plus a budget for work-related trips and co-working spaces.
