Cockroach Labs is building the infrastructure for the next era of software. We created CockroachDB to survive failures, scale without compromise, and adapt to changing conditions automatically. We are looking for a Senior Staff Sales Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in Singapore.

The Role

As a Sales Engineer, you will act as a trusted advisor to potential customers, helping them understand the unique capabilities of CockroachDB and designing solutions to meet complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Sales: Partner with the sales team to introduce CockroachDB, lead product briefings, conduct live demos, and prototype integrations.
• Solution Design: Build proof-of-concepts (POC) and address technical objections to resolve blockers to adoption.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product management, engineering, and support teams to solve customer challenges and improve the product.
• Strategy: Collaborate with Account Managers to build regional go-to-market strategies and account plans.

The Expectations

• First 30 Days: Immerse yourself in CockroachDB technology and our sales motion. Build relationships and shadow customer calls.
• After 90 Days: Lead customer meetings independently, conduct POCs, and drive regional account strategies.

You Have

• 10-12+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical presentations, and teaching software similar to CockroachDB.
• A background in developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
• A passion for complex technical problems and modern database technologies.
• Strong relationship-building skills with partners, customers, and open-source users.
• A demonstrated practice of integrating AI tools into your daily workflow for research, drafting, and decision-making.
• Flexibility to travel for customer meetings, events, and conferences.
