Data Engineer - Cloud & SaaS Integrations

About DoiT

DoiT is a global technology company that works with cloud-driven organizations to leverage the cloud to drive business growth and innovation. We combine data, technology, and human expertise to ensure our customers operate in a well-architected and scalable state—from planning to production.

Delivering DoiT Cloud Intelligence, the only solution that integrates advanced technology with human intelligence, we help our customers solve complex multicloud problems and drive efficiency. An award-winning strategic partner of AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, we work alongside more than 4,000 customers worldwide.

Location & Eligibility

This role is based remotely as a full-time employee in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Israel. We are also open to contractors in Eastern Europe and Portugal.

The Opportunity

Cloud spend is no longer just AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. Our customers now run a large and growing share of their technology spend through SaaS platforms, data clouds, and AI vendors—each with its own billing API, pricing model, and schema. DoiT's Integrations Framework turns that into a single, trustworthy picture of cost.

We're hiring a Data Engineer to own the data side of this integration ecosystem. Your mandate is expanding visibility by bringing more of a customer's spend into the platform from more vendors at financial-grade quality. You will work AI-augmented from day one across your entire engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Expanding Vendor Coverage: Build new integrations against third-party billing and usage APIs to make customer spend visible. Keep existing integrations updated as vendors alter APIs and pricing models. Lower the marginal cost of building new integrations.
  • AI-Augmented Working: Use AI tools daily across your entire workflow—exploring codebases, prototyping, writing and reviewing code, debugging, and generating tests and documentation.
  • Data Correctness & Completeness: Maintain data quality by handling duplication, gaps, race conditions, marketplace spend deduplication, and custom customer rates. Build rigorous checks and reconciliation tools.
  • Normalization Across Vendors: Design and build models that make varied vendor bills comparable across consistent units, currencies, time granularities, resource taxonomies, and cost categories.
  • Pipeline Ownership: Own end-to-end orchestration, scheduling, and backfill mechanics for ingestion pipelines, ensuring backfills are routine and safe.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, support, and downstream data teams to identify gaps, propose solutions, and improve pipeline reliability.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a data-heavy backend role with production ownership of data pipelines.
  • SQL: Strong proficiency writing, reading, and optimizing non-trivial analytical queries.
  • Orchestration: Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines using Dagster, Airflow, Prefect, dbt, or comparable tools.
  • Programming: Strong proficiency in Python or another backend language used for data processing.
  • Data Warehousing: Experience with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  • API Integration: Experience integrating third-party REST APIs, handling rate limits, pagination, partial failures, and schema changes.
  • Data Quality Focus: High standards for data correctness, auditing totals, building assertions, and validating reconciliation checks.
  • AI Tools: An established AI-augmented workflow using tools like GitHub Copilot or LLM assistants to accelerate engineering tasks.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with cloud or SaaS billing data (AWS/GCP/Azure cost exports, marketplace billing, or the FOCUS specification).
  • Familiarity with Go.
  • Experience with financial, billing, or audit-grade data correctness requirements.
  • Exposure to FinOps practices or cloud financial management tools.

Benefits

  • Unlimited Vacation
  • Flexible Working Options
  • Health Insurance
  • Parental Leave
  • Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP)
  • Home Office Allowance
  • Professional Development Stipend
  • Peer Recognition Program
