Engineering Manager - Revenue Management Azure

This role is based remotely in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Israel.

The Opportunity

The Engineering Manager is a hands-on, player-coach leadership role. You are embedded with your team — daily standup, code review, architectural calls, delivery planning, and performance management — owning both the team's output and growth.

This is a genuinely technical and leadership role. You are expected to write and review code, be a credible voice in architectural decisions, and stay current in your team's stack. You work AI-augmented yourself, expect the same from your team, and push the team's craft forward.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Lead a team of engineers, owning both delivery and career development.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the team via fast, compounding iterations.
  • Develop engineers through regular 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and direct, candid feedback.
  • Cultivate future leaders, including tech leads, prospective managers, and staff-level ICs.

Technical Leadership

  • Actively write and review code to maintain strong technical fluency.
  • Drive architectural and technical design decisions in partnership with senior ICs.
  • Uphold engineering standards through pull-request reviews and healthy release processes.
  • Implement and advocate for AI-augmented workflows while maintaining high quality.

Roadmap & Delivery

  • Own team commitments, scope, timelines, and release quality.
  • Maintain a disciplined cadence of planning, prioritization, and delivery.
  • Partner with Product Owners to manage scope, trade-offs, and technical roadmaps.
  • Align engineering execution with broader business strategy.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting business priorities while keeping the team steady.

Hiring & Process

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for your team, holding a high bar for talent.
  • Mentor peer engineering managers across the organization and share operational best practices.
  • Collaborate across functions (Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success) to ensure alignment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in hands-on engineering management roles.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based SaaS products on Azure (AWS/GCP experience is a plus).
  • Strong background leading engineering teams within the FinOps domain.
  • API-first architecture mindset for end-user, system, and AI-agent interactions.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (full-stack and data engineers).
  • Demonstrated history of measurably improving team delivery velocity and technical caliber.
  • Strong opinions on high-performing team operations, hiring, coaching, and technical strategy.
  • Decisive decision-making under pressure and candid, effective communication skills.

  • Established AI-augmented workflow with experience utilizing agentic tools.
  • Multi-cloud operational experience across more than one provider.
  • Proven track record scaling engineering systems and processes.
