Doppler is a developer-first secrets management platform that helps over 78,000 startups and enterprises manage their secrets at scale. With the rise of AI tooling, the stakes for secure secrets management have never been higher. Doppler provides a simple, scalable solution built for developers, by developers.
Our team is entrepreneurial, with a bias for action. We value self-awareness, meaningful impact, and are open to unconventional approaches. We prioritize your time, allowing you to set your hours, communicate via Slack, and default to zero meetings.
About the Product and Design Team
Doppler’s Product and Design team is nimble, hands-on, and collaborates across all teams. You will have your own growth engineering pod, enabling rapid experimentation and significant impact on Doppler's growth. We focus on building quality products with minimal ego.
The Role: Sr. Growth Product Manager
As a Sr. Growth Product Manager, you will own Doppler’s self-serve growth engine, from a developer’s first visit to their team becoming a paying customer. This role is central to achieving ambitious business growth targets. You will identify and execute experiments that drive top-line revenue, working across the product and reporting to the Head of Product. There is a clear path to Head of Growth as the function scales.
This role is not about superficial tactics; growth at Doppler should be seamless and enhance the developer experience. You will advocate for first-time users in product and go-to-market decisions, finding changes that help developers succeed with Doppler while growing the business.
What You’ll Own
- Self-serve revenue: Drive new self-serve ARR by owning key metrics like visit-to-signup rate, signup-to-activation rate, free-to-paid conversion, and trial conversion rate.
- Before signup: Partner with Marketing on the website, pricing page, and demo forms, using data to understand visitor-to-active/paying user conversion.
- Activation: Identify early actions predicting paying accounts, measure and shorten time-to-value from signup to first secret synced and first integration. This includes individual developers, self-serve teams, and trials, covering the CLI, docs, and feature discovery.
- Free-to-paid conversion: Own upgrade paths, paywalls, trials, plan limits, and checkout. Collaborate with Leadership and Finance on pricing and packaging to boost revenue.
- Experimentation: Build Doppler’s experimentation practice from the ground up, including roadmap, tools, success criteria, and workflows. Focus on high-impact bets.
- Lifecycle and new products: Partner with growth marketing on onboarding emails and campaigns to align in-product and lifecycle messaging. Drive adoption of new Doppler products.
- PLG to sales: Define product usage signals indicating a self-serve account is ready for Sales, and work with Sales and RevOps to route these accounts.
- The growth team: Help build the growth team, including hiring engineers, partnering with Design, and defining team processes, shipping velocity, and knowledge sharing.
- Strategy: Develop a growth model, set funnel strategy, and present progress and lessons to leadership and investors.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in product management, with at least 3 years owning a self-serve or PLG funnel end-to-end at a B2B SaaS company. Experience with a developer-tool, infrastructure, or security company is ideal.
- Hands-on use of AI coding tools and a strong point of view on the AI agent ecosystem.
- A proven track record of experiments that measurably moved revenue or conversion, with the ability to articulate the numbers.
- A strong understanding of how free accounts convert to paying ones and how self-serve usage informs an enterprise sales motion.
- Comfort with data: ability to write SQL, experience with experimentation and feature flagging platforms (e.g., PostHog, Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Amplitude), understanding of event tracking, cohorts, attribution, and A/B test limitations.
- Strong developer-experience instinct, with opinions on CLIs, error messages, defaults, and docs, and the ability to integrate data and user research into developer-friendly experiments.
- Sufficient technical depth to earn developers’ trust and collaborate closely with engineers on instrumentation and architecture.
- Experience leading a growth team or building an experimentation practice from scratch.
- Clear, written, async communication skills, including sharing both good and bad results.
Nice to Have
- Pricing and packaging experience at a SaaS or developer-tools company, including usage-based or seat-based pricing changes.
- Experience at a company that transitioned from PLG to enterprise.
- A background in security, DevOps, or infrastructure products.
- Familiarity with lifecycle marketing and funnel optimization on the website and signup flow.
