Platform Engineer - Kubernetes

About the Role

Elastic is seeking a Platform Engineer to develop and maintain our Application Hosting Infrastructure on Kubernetes in GCP. You will join a focused team prioritizing automation and security to build a robust platform for internal applications in an AI-forward environment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Infrastructure Design: Build scalable solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• CI/CD & Automation: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and scalable build systems to accelerate delivery.
• Security & Compliance: Collaborate with Infosec to ensure compliance, manage incident responses, and remediate CVEs.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Financial Governance: Analyze cloud spending patterns and implement cost optimization policies.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with IaC tools (Terraform or Crossplane).
• 5+ years of experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate or equivalent certification.
• Proficiency in service mesh architectures (Istio or Linkerd).
• Hands-on experience with cloud security practices and cost management tools.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus.
